PROGRAMS

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General administrative support, mailing, emailing, scanning, faxing and copying

  • Prepare and modify documents (correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, emails)

CAMP RANKIN CAMPS (6 weeks – July to August)

  • Asist in hiring, training, delegating, supervising, and evaluating camp staff
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, prepare changes as required to improve compliance with legislative requirements
  • Organize supplies and requirements
  • Participate in committee meetings, as deemed necessary
  • Provide report on camps and including potential changes for the upcoming year
  • Attend camp at least one day per week during camps, as well as training days
  • Data entry for camp statistical information

EVENT SUPPORT

  • Assist with organization of annual events and conferences
  • Source and organize supplies and requirements
  • Assist with fund development and sponsorship deliverables
  • Assist with communications and marketing
  • Participate in committee meetings, as deemed necessary
  • Data entry for sponsor and event registration statistical information
  • Research opportunities and potential supporters

OTHER DUTIES will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assist with social enterprise (Trail Shop) – inventory, photos for website, orders, etc.
  • Materials for website, social media
  • General office duties (Ex. Phone, email, etc.)

Welding Machine Repair Technician

Currently seeking a self-motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Welding Machine Repair Technician, at our facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Job Summary:

  • Rebuild, repair and maintain welding equipment, applying knowledge of machine repair and industrial electronics.
  • Inspects machine and observes operation to detect cause of malfunction.
  • Disassembles machine, using hand tools.
  • Selects replacement parts lists and catalogs, or repairs parts, such as motor drive controls, motors, belts, transformers, bushings, bearings, and gears.
  • Solders loose connections and rewires electrical circuits.
  • Reassembles machine, using hand tools, welding and brazing equipment, and measuring instruments. Sets up and starts repaired machine to verify operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform major and minor repairs of welding equipment, and associated equipment utilizing vendor technical manuals and wiring schematics.
  • Must be able to perform repairs in the shop or field service visit to customer’s facility.
  • Refurbish equipment – tear down, inspect, repair, calibrate, clean and paint
  • Practice safe behaviors and good shop keeping.
  • Keep work areas clean and hazard-free
  • Perform documented Quality Review Process to insure repaired equipment will meet customer expectations.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience operating welding equipment and field service experience is a plus – Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) diploma an asset
  • Working knowledge of mechanics and electricity, as well as troubleshooting, reading electrical diagrams, and testing electrical equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly

HOURS:  15-30 hours per week, overnight week-end, opportunity to work other shifts (days and evenings) to secure stable employment.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and cordial manner
  • Respond to customer requests politely and promptly
  • Perform transactions using cash and POS system
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Responsible for balanced cash float at close of shift
  • Adhere to government regulations surrounding sale of tobacco and lotto products
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of store merchandise and operations
  • Replenish/stock merchandise including products in refrigeration units
  • Attend to interior maintenance tasks

Advertising Sales Representative

JOB TITLE: Advertising Sales Representative

REPORTS TO: Directly reports to the owners

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an integral part of the Sherman Hines Photographic Ltd. Team, in your role as Advertising Sales Representative, your primary responsibilities will be to sell advertisements for books.

Hours: Flexible

Salary: 20% Commission

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The Advertising Sales Representative will be responsible for:

  • Selling ads and being involved with numerous book projects such as “Canada 150”, “Wine Trails of Nova Scotia”
  • Managing his/her own expenses
  • Managing his/her own means of travel
  • Responding to telephone, in person or electronic inquiries
  • Organizing, arranging and coordinating meetings if required
  • Ability to assist in providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain mailing lists for books

 Other duties as required.

The Advertising Sales Representative must know or possess:
