JOB SUMMARY

Assists with and performs fabrication, routine maintenance and repair of rig equipment and structural components in a safe and efficient manner to meet operational requirements as directed. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years offshore experience as a Welder / Fitter
  • CWB All Position + Pipe Welding Certification
  • Interprovincial Welding Journeyman Certificate is preferred
  • Basic Survival Training (BST)
  • H2S Alive
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space Entry
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Regulatory Awareness
  • CAPP Medical
  • Able to operate software applications as applicable to position
  • Must pass Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that incomplete repairs and projects are finished within their scheduled time of completion
  • Maintain good two-way communication with crew member and aid in the development of newly appointed team members.
  • Participate in company approved and recommended training as required both on and offshore.
  • Regulatory compliance related to function.
  • Ensure compliance with Noble‚Äôs HSE Management System thus allowing for safe, efficient operations.
  • Must complete orientation process and be familiar with all company safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety handbook.
  • Safely and efficiently perform all duties (welding, cutting, burning and associated activities) assigned by the Rig Manager, Rig Maintenance Supervisor or Barge Engineer.
  • Attend and participate in pre-tour, post tour and special operations and weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensure all operations are proceeding in a safe manner, and responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.
  • Check, service and maintain welding equipment in a safe, working condition.
  • Coordinate with supervisor daily work schedule and the ordering of welding equipment and supplies
  • Report to the Rig Manager, Rig Maintenance Supervisor or Barge Engineer complete details of all work performed for third parties to ensure proper charges and any items in need of repair or to be built
  • Other duties as assigned.
