REPORTS TO: Owners, The Station Foundation

SALARY: Dependent upon Government Funding (JCP)


The EXTEND Program Community Liaison will support the social values of the Station Foundation and build community awareness, connections, and strategic partnerships to ensure healthy, just, and sustainable food is available to all Nova Scotians. The primary responsibility is to develop a resource mapping/index toolkit to establish and raise awareness of the services provided by the Station Foundation to the community.



  • Conduct market research and gather data to help widen the reach and focus of the Foundation.
  • Analyze and report findings from market research
  • Liaising with partner farms and producers, community agencies, schools and other organizations/ agencies interested in supporting food access, food literacy, understanding food waste, impact of import replacement through buying local, and the health of vulnerable populations and communities, including youth and older adults
  • Establish, maintain and update all forms of social media that are being used for the Station Foundation
  • Participate in the strategy sessions around building and executing program for The EXTEND Program.

This project is dependent upon the employer receiving government funding (JCP). Eligibility for interested candidates is as follows: (1) You are unemployed (2) you have been in the labour market for at least 2 years (3) You have a current regular EI claim OR have had an EI claim ending within the last 5 years OR have been employed with gross insurable earnings of $2000 or higher annually in at least 5 of the previous 10 years.
