COMPANY: River Tree Developments Inc. – Mt. Uniacke

SALARY: $15.00 per hour

HOURS: 30 hours per week

We are a small grass roots construction company looking for a like minded labourer to join our team. We are dedicated on being kind to the land in which we work and work very hard to use all available onsite materials in our construction projects.

JOB DUTIES:

· Operate and care for construction equipment and machines

· Cutting trees, clearing lands, milling lumber,

· Help equipment operator, carpenters and other skilled labor workers when necessary

· Maintaining trail systems

· Load and unload construction materials

· Follow instructions from supervisors

· Ready to learn from on-the-job training

· Perform site clean-up

· Ability to do physical labor and other physically demanding tasks

· Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations

· Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment and securing the job site on a daily basis

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Must have a valid driver’s licence

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· High School Diploma

· First Aid and CPR Certificate

· Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks

· Ability to work in all weather

· Workers must be punctual and reliable

· Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry

· Must be able to operate a chain saw

· Must have own safety equipment/gear (steel-toed boots/ hard hat with eye and ear protection, chainsaw chaps and chainsaw gloves)

· Post Secondary training in Carpentry or Forestry would be an asset

This position is dependant upon the employer receiving START funding.

  2. Be case managed in a Nova Scotia Works Centre.
  3. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
