Summer Student - Production Worker

We are seeking Summer Students. As a Summer Student you will process and package poultry. You will ensure all work performed adheres to organizational standards as well as food and safety regulations and guidelines. This is a labour intensive position requiring individuals to perform repetitive tasks and stand for long periods of time.

  • must be a full time student and enrolled in a post-secondary institution for September 2019;
  • are available for work between May-September;
  • have the ability to work in a safe and efficient manner;
  • are willing and able to follow specific instructions;
  • can perform repetitive tasks with little supervision;
  • can work in a team; are reliable;
  • have a commitment to accuracy and detail;
  • have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; and
  • are able to work shifts as schedule.

Camp Counsellor

    • exhibit a constant duty of care for our campers, and appropriately assess and respond to risks
    • be challenged physically and mentally as you live in an overnight camp or wilderness setting for 10 day sessions, with 2 days of break in between

You are…

  • at least 18 years old
  • pursuing post-secondary education in recreation, outdoor/adventure education, teaching or related field
  • experienced at working with youth aged 12 – 16
  • are skilled in positive behaviour management and have demonstrated group leadership skills
  • certified in Standard First Aid or Wilderness First Aid (WFA), or are willing to obtain
  • bilingual in English and French (considered an asset)
  • able to provide an acceptable criminal background check
  • able to join us between June 10, 2019 and August 30, 2019

Summer Camp Leaders

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Camp Administrator to join our unique school. We value this role as a strong component to our overall school experience and therefore are quite selective.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

-If needed, report, daily, to parents their child’s progress, achievements, experiences, and challenges while working with children. These childcare responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Building a positive working rapport with each family from the camp, ensuring a trusting, respectful, and appropriate working bond with each child.
-Have a repertoire of activities that facilitate active learning experiences, engaging children’s curiosity, enthusiasm, and interests, as well as building interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and leadership qualities. All activities must be connected with the educational philosophies of the school.

-Clean spaces used daily in accordance with your working shift. Collect garbage, recyclables, compost as needed from the space and other spaces used to maintain a clean and safe environment.

-Manage children’s behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures that support and engage a child’s success. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. Follow all school policies and protocols, including safety and standards for teaching and learning

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must have:

-Experience and/or training in early childhood, children and youth -Criminal Records Check
-Child Abuse Registry Check
-3 References related to working with children, within the past 5 years

Other experiences you might have that are considered assets:

-Post-Secondary Degree in Education, Child and Youth, Recreation or equivalent experience/training.
-Camp leading, directing, teaching, and other related work experience -Teaching in alternative educational environments

-Leadership experience in programs working with children, youth, families, and communities

-Experience in Multi-age classrooms, Multiple learning styles, Diverse Learners -Experience teaching physical, arts, or hands-on life skills education
